Catalyst Solutions has a team of highly specialised Certified Measurement, and Verification Professionals (CMVPs), and Certified Energy Managers (CEMs) who assist companies in measuring and verifying savings from planned or implemented projects.
Catalyst Solutions is one of a few South African National Accreditation Systems (“SANAS”)-accredited inspection bodies for the measurement and verification of energy savings in terms of section 12L of the Income Tax Act. Our services are performed in terms of International, and National standards ISO/IEC 17020, and SANS 50010.
M&V is an essential part of a project cycle, – it is required to quantify savings realised from any energy or water efficiency, and/or Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emission reductions.

We provide advisory services to identify and assess energy efficiency measures, to invest in and secure alternative energy supply, and to ultimately become more sustainable enterprises through securing energy security. Our team of specialists identify opportunities for energy efficiency, energy generation and alternative energy supply and builds business cases for these opportunities. We develop and put action plans in place to implement the projects whilst taking advantage of the grants, tax incentives and funding opportunities on offer.
Catalyst Solutions employ registered professionals to assist our clients to obtain Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for their buildings as regulated by the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE).
Contact UsThe South African DMRE released regulations requiring owners of specific buildings to have Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) in place for buildings classified as public assembly, theatrical, indoor sport, places of instruction, and offices. The DMRE has extended the EPC deadline to 7 December 2025.
Catalyst Solutions assists our clients in meeting and complying with all their EPC compliance requirements. We also issue voluntary EPCs to our clients interested in measuring their building energy performance against a benchmark.
